I have posted about my lexus afm, new fuel pump and 550 injectors. I did the test with the diagnostic box, and it said's that I'm running rich. My question is this, Will it idle real bad when I first crank it up like it has a bad miss? It get's a little better after it warms up, but still kind of vibrates like a miss.
I haven't drove it yet, since the new stuff has been installed. I just got my new intercooler and I want to install it this week and then go have the car tuned and dynod. I'm scared to drive it until I find out about this miss. Does anyone know which way to turn the screw in the lexus afm to help lean it out? Any help would be greatly appreciated.:1zhelp:

Did you ever check the O2 sensor counting using Vf? It'd be nice to know if the loop is out of range or still in control. Driving it rich isn't going to hurt anything other than your cat and only then if it's real rich. Not to worry, wait until you get everything installed and tune from there. The miss may not even be fuel related. Could be ignition. If you turn the screw in, the AFM will measure more air, if you back it out it'll measure less.

If I'm not mistaken I told you either in another post or a PM. It's also in your service manual but what the heck, here goes:

Warm the car up. Short the diag connector. Connect your meter to Vf and ground. Hold 2500 rpm and look for the meter to fluctuate. A minimum of 8 flucuations in 10 seconds is the spec. If your meter has a frequency function use it instead. If it's doing that the loop is in control and although it may not be controlling to stoich it won't be so far rich as to hurt anything. And if you have no cat all the better. Continue with your mods and worry about it later.

Thanks AGAIN Jetjock. I don't remember reading that before, but you probably did tell me how. I'll try that today. All the meter has got to do is move? By fluctuate, I guess it just has to read something of move the needle? I'll also try and adjust the afm screw. Hopefully I can get the thing running a little leaner. I have a car hauler, so if I can't get it to where I feel safe, I'll just haul it to the dyno. Thanks again for your help.

Checked the plugs yesterday and they were all fouled out. Replaced them with autolites and it ran alot better at idle. Took it for a test drive and blowed the i.c. pipe off of the turbo. Barely made it home. Luckily I was only a 1/8 mile away when I really got on it.
Still waiting on some silicone elbows so that I can install my new intercooler with the new silicone couplings that came with it.
