Hi Supie guys,

Starting of I have had probs starting the car for a long time now when cold , so after reading all about csi and csi switch I change to new ones.

But its still has hard time starting.......look at the plugs and the new iridium plugs I had put in where all black:icon_conf I mean really black???

So I look at all the piping and there is kinda oily supstance in them??

Im getting a code 51 but guess its because of the TB being all black inside??
Sometimes it throws a 34 but that goes away fast again........

So the car runs rich and idles poorly............Why?

Any help would be greatly appriciated

Thanks
Marlon

The oily substance in your ic pipes is normal, that's called blow-by. To get rid of that you would have to instal an oil catch can. The blow-by is what will make your TB black (carbon deposits) inside, along with the intake manifold.

Try checking for vacume leaks, boost leaks, check to o2 sensor, fuel filter, etc.

Code 51 will appear if the AC button is on or if the throttle is depressed while checking the codes. Otherwise, it can indicate a bad TPS or one that's out of adjustment. The TRSM willl tell you how to adjust the TPS. Otherwise, do a search on the code 51 for more info...a lot of posts on that one.

could it be that because I dont have a catch can - the oil spil sits in the TB making the tps freaking out throwing the code 51???

To Install a catch can You run the 2 hoses from the top of the engine to the can but where do run the return??

thanks

Dude - an oil catch can or oil in the TB will have no effect on the TPS in anyway, shape, or form. Search for posts on code 51...the TRSM has a procedure for adjusting it correctly.

CSI only operates when engine temp drops below 56*. Then it only operates for a few seconds, so you don't flood the engine. I believe you have other problems.

Check codes. test ECU temp sender (thermo housing) fo proper values. ECU may think engine is warm already.

Test fuel pressure.

Hell....test every thing !:icon_razz (had to laugh)
