More than likely when the snow is gone, I am thinking of going with this setup for my new tires. These are 13lb wheels, 11lbs lighter than stock :) Anyway, my first set of tires are going to be stock size, when those are worn out I'll have enough feedback from the car to decide whether or not I want to upgrade the tire size or not... if I do, 245/45R16 is available and will fit perfectly

From my calculations, 16x8 +48 should fit perfectly over 16x7 +37 of stock.. extending only a few mm outwards and 24mm towards the struts, which has a ton of clearance

Just wanted to see if anyone else has tried something similar...

I genuinely like them. What's the price per wheel and where are you buying from?
eric

They are around $125 per wheel I believe, and I'll have to find out where my friend bought his from, I think he ordered his from a place in Cali

i think they need to make em in 17x9 and 17x10 :hsugh:

Yes I know. I contacted ROTA on this topic not to long ago and they said they COULD do that in the future but no word as of yet if they plan on making staggard fitment wheel sizes ( would make costs soar!).

I would say for winter tires and such, the rota's would be a great wheel for winter time and snow....but are WAY too thin width wise to even get a nice meaty tire on there!

too bad. i think they are a nice looking wheel and in a wide size and a nice offset with a good lip id be all over em. id almost prefer an 18 but 17's are cool. you should poke em with a stick more and get em moving :biglaugh:
also why would you need winter tires for a supra? lol! id be to scared to drive mine in the winter.

my friend drover his 87 out of necessity for a while and ended up hitting black ice and sliding into a fire hydrant. :aigo:

i know id cry if yours got bumped even jon, you have a to clean of a car for it to ever see snow!
