I am trying to install these two items and appreciate any help. The seller (not Ron R) said there was a thread describing the install of these two but I have not been able to find.

The FFIM is a Ron R long runner. The throttle body is a Mustang 70 mm from BBK. I also have the cable and alternator relocate bracket. I have mocked things up. It appears that the ffim allows very little range for adjusing the alternator belt tension and that it will be necessary to relocate the battery and fuse box.

My biggest question is what it takes to make the TB work. Specifically the electical connections, the TB egr plate (none provided) and which way goes up. Also, what size belt to use and if anyone has had problems with this ffim system due to the very little alternator belt adjustment range. Finally, I welcome any suggestions about the fuse box, battery relocate or anything else.

Thanks, Jim

the alternotor relocator is NOT for the long runner FFIM unless you are ditching the stock A/C unit. Mustang TB, the thing with the FFIM that ron makes is that he can make it accept any throttle body by changing the moounting plate while building up. So the next q is are you sure it is a mustang tb mount and not the q45 mount??

I am not planning to ditch the AC .

The FFIM is flanged for the mustang TB.

To my knowledge, the alternator bracket is intended to relocate the alternator so that the FFIM will work without need to ditch the AC. I know that the short runner requires removal of the AC.

The bracket I have is much different than the short runner bracket. All it does it move the top alternator mount connection to the right and down about three inches.

I also have the lower alternator mount bracket (the one used to adjust belt tension). I think it is a shortened toyota bracket. This is kind of beside the point but I am not sure if it should be attached inside of our outside of the AC mount bracket.

Sorry if cannot make sense of this. It is a bit hard to describe. Let me see if I can attach a picture.

Here is a photo showing the alternator / alternator relocate bracket /ffim / fuse box.

The bracket is hanging loose and is thus all the way down. It is already within 1/2 inch of the TB flange. Would shifting to a different TB and flange provide more clearance?

yes, battery has to be relocated. no, fuse box does not, but you do have to change the way it sits. for my car (building my own ffi, but same idea), i turned the fusebox so it sits against the fender, and then i made a custom bracket to mount it.

DB,

thanks for forwarding the excellent write up. You and Jimi did great. I am using the AEM EMS. That means I can neglect the IDL circuit and switch. Right?

It seems I have two ways to go with the TPS. Wire it to my existing harness per your diagram, or make an adapter to use the stock toyo tps. Which way do you think would be better/easier with my standalone? I can't tell how much fab work was needed to make the tps adpater. Guess I need to pull the old one off and look. If it is only the silver plate, then that would be easy.

What do I do with the EGR opening? Just block it off or does something need to go there?

thanks!

correct, w/ the ems you dont have to use the idle validation switch.

either will work, i had just prefered to use the ford tps for a couple reasons.

- with the front face intake you have to cut and extend the wiring anyway

- the ford tps is much smaller and cleaner looking

- the ford tps came with the throttlebody, and was new

- if it needed to be replaced, you can find them all day long for cheap

the egr and isc openings were all blocked off on the throttle body. if you really wanted, you could adapt an isc setup with it. not sure how you were going about things.

DB,

Thanks. I'll think about it a bit but using the ford TPS seems to be a good idea. I may also want to go to the junk yard and get the ford tps connector and wire it to my harnesss per your diagram rather than wire it directly.
