I posted a bunch of pictures of cars on the lincoln forum I go on with a warning in the title

"56k join the new century"

obviously someone didnt get it and got offended. He posted this

"I know its off topic, but you had better respect the "56K's". Just because my download speeds are in the 1-2kb/sec range doesn't mean you need to kick me while I am down. My modem chokes on the animated smilies.

It is not because I am a cheap skate either, Cable and DSL have yet to spread to my neck of the woods. My area thinks of such things as a promising prospect for the next decade. Just consider yourself fortunate that you don't have to wait all day for a page of text to load."

Hell broadband has been a requirement in our house hunting for years now. I tell the real estate people that if cable modem and/or DSL is not available, don't even bother showing us the house, we don't want it...

How about if the page is loading slow, close it and dont go back? People act like once they click the link they are locked into waiting for the pics to load or something.

My hose has no terrestrial broadband :-(
Wild Blue for me :) It sucks ass 1.7meg down; up is about like dial slut, 18 gigs down max a month, and the bill is $80 a month. Oh and the worst part I can see a Fucking Macdonalds. Cox will bring cable to me for the low low price of $34,000. DSL is a no go.
