what seems to be a good R&P for the turbo track cars? my mk2 has 4.30's in it and know that' way to low. I used some calculators online and figure I wanna top out just past the 1/4 trap in 4th gear; not use 5th. so a 1.00 trans ratio. I was thinking a 3.55 would be about right. what do you guys think?

long gearing for light turbo cars is the way to go for tracks without corners

go find yourself an RA65 they have a ~3.5:1 F series diff ideal for a MA61, your going to need to sort out the rear camber tho!

82 Supras have 3.73 diffs, as do 83 Automatics.
RA65's almost all have 6.7" diffs, not the 7.5" like the Supra, with the exception of the 85 RA65, which got a 3.91:1 7.5" diff that will directly bolt into the Supra, but it won't have LSD. You can use the R&P though with your OEM LSD.

I don't think any RA65's had a 3.5:1 ratio here. The RA64 had a 3.42:1 ratio, but it's a 6.7" diff. Some trucks from the era may have a 3.5:1 7.5" R&P though.

RA65 = celica GTS 82-85..

for the supra.. I think the 3.73 is the best settup.. my buddy has a 4.30 and its going through the traps at the top of 4th gear at 104mph.. so 3.73 or 3.91 would be the only choice imo..

You can also change the gearing by tire size, if you get bigger rear tires you can actually change the gearing dramatically making the gears longer. It looks kinda cool too and no need to open rearend or set backlash. If you have 50 sidewall now if you go with like 70 your gonna notice a big difference! I did that on mine and it looks hot but I went down a little because the gearing was too long for my taste.

lol. That's probably one of the worst recommendations evar...

Plus, I can't possibly see a 225/70r16 looking "hot"...

i already have "larger" tires on the back. I got them dirt cheap brand new, couldn't argue. they're just slightly larger. they measure 24.5" tall. Can't recall the size off the top of my head. But I'd like to see some Drag lites back there with some slicks or cheater slicks. or maybe even some 275's..
