Whos re wrapped their engine harness. What did you change (if anything), what materials did you use when re wrapping and most of all what sizes of loom did you get?

Just finished removing all my old wrapping off my next harness and i want to clean it up a bit and get it nice and good again. I just don't know the diameter of looms ill need.

You're gonna need 1" loom for the main part of the harness. It's not easy to find.
I work at a chevy dealer and found out that I can get wire loom up to 1.5" from GM..
Problem is, for 1" loom, you need to buy a 15' roll, and list is $50.14, wholesale cost is $37.61, which I don't think is bad.. really...
If you want me to order a roll, I'll split the cost with you, since I need some, but no need for 15' of it.

I can get it on ebay for $2.69 per 10'ft of wire loom. Im thinking about getting 10ft of each size just for the hell of it.

Also... FWIW, I plan to wrap the section that runs along the fuel rail with something sturdy... like heater hose. I have had the harness make contact with the plenum there and melt a few wires, in the past. I've done a better job hanging the harness in there, but it's one of those problem areas.

Agreed, I had the same problem, and fixed it the same way. Misc loom sizes and several rolls of electrical tape. :D

Consider buying the high temp stuff. The generic stuff goes crumbly pretty fast under the hood.

True! I used the hi-temp stuff and it has an "elastic" quality that allows you to tightly bundle/wrap, without stretching the tape out of shape. Awesome stuff... I used about 1.5 rolls on one of my harnesses.
