Ok guys and gals.

Ive seen this stuff a few times on some cars over the years, but never had the chance to ask the owner where they got it from.

Im looking for the high temp nylon looking wire loom/wrap to re-wrap the wiring harness in.

Ive seen some guys use it when they redo their injector clips.

I know some of the expensive stuff comes from Raytheon, but I can't get my hands on it.

Any help?

I use that wire loom all the time, click to enlarge:

I get it at Lowes. It's temperature range is: -30* to 200*F, I believe. It might be 300*F, but I can't remember, and don't have a pack handy.

Raytheon is not the right company. CLOSE though!

You are thinking RayChem, made by Tyco.

They are the ones that make the DR-25 heatshrink tubing that is used in the race circuits. They also make Spec 55m cabling which is what most F1 teams use for wiring.

Figgie nailed it. RayChem is what Im looking for. I knew I had seen it on the Indy Cars when I was working on the bastards lol!

Any idea where I can get some of this stuff? All my Indy Car contacts are dried up...

actaully

chit chat with John Reed.

He carries most of the Raychem DR-25 heatshrink. He might also be able to get a hold of the spec 55m wiring. Though tefzel will work just as well (which is what aircrafts SOLEY use).

btw here is the spec55 information directly from Raychem/Tyco.

Ok, let me ask you this. How would go about wrapping the main harness, and yet have the injector pig tails come off the wrapped main?

ahh that is another simple solution
sticking to RayChem (Amphenol and all others have thier own too).

Molded boots :)

That is their entire catalog on molded boots :) They are all heatshrink also.

With that you can branch off to your hearts content!
