reverse lights not working

alright so a buddy got a 87 turbo 5 speed targa today and his reverse lights arnt lighting up, i told him if their both not coming on its probly the reverse switch, but he insisted on trying new bulbs, we did, didnt work, duh :slap: so were gonna see whats up with the switch on the tranny tomorrow, i know where its at, just wondering how i could test it.

it was pretty cool finally cruising around with another mark 3 ::w00t::

Should have continuity when in reverse, you will need a multimeter.

Allen... You seriously must be the electrical guru. I had the same issue a while back but fortunately enough it was just the reverse light plug on the tranny that came undone.

PO on my car clipped the wire that comes up near the engine bay from the trans on my car...a quick crimp and fixed.

....you will need a multimeter.

Or a couple inches of wire.
