Reusing oil pump?

My boyfriend and I were wondering how safe it would be to reuse our oil pump if we take it apart and make sure everything is within spec.

I don't see a problem in that.. Some of the other guys might say different. But if it's in spec, what more do you need.

i did that with my pump i put it back to specs with rectified internals and case and put it back again ......

That's what the specs are there for

Also look for pitting and scoring ect.

Post some good macro pics of any concerned ares.

Don't think I understand the last two posts

BTW, gear pumps can handle the most amount of "crap", and the first stop it makes is the filter(IIRC) so any dirt will be filtered out. So try your best to get it perfectly cleaned, but remember thats what fiters are for.
