Ok so I'm planning on reusing my 2.0 mm HG. Now I know I have to remove the viton and then use a either copper spray or brake clean...?

Anyways I read something somewhere, where someone said something about usin FIPG on the timing cover part where the head sits... Is there something like that I should read up on?

There are plenty of threads you can read up on with the search bar. There was a thread less than a month ago about this.

You use acetone or something similar to remove the viton from ALL layers. MEans removing the rivets. Keep them in order. Spray with copper hg spray on ALL layers. Either reassemble one by one on studs or by gently laying them on the block and get the head on without shifting them at all.

Fipg is supposed to be in those 2 spots where the rear timing cover meet the block. IF its already there you should be fine. IF you want you could add a small amount to them.

Ya I read a couple of the posts. But I just wanted to be sure.

Ya I already used FIPG for the back timing cover, so that's all good then.

So how do you go about taking out the rivets?
