Reusing bearings?

Here's the deal,
I have a GTE that I got from a BHG parts car. It was rebuilt no more than 2000 miles ago, new crank, pistons and bearings etc. Problem is it was rebuilt by retards. For example it has a nice new HK$ stopper MHG but they did NO prep to either the block or the head. So I am redoing it, properly.
Assuming the rod and main bearings are in good shape, within spec etc do you think it is OK to reuse them? Or just go ahead with new bearings. The bottom end is in good shape and I am only tearing it down so it can go to the machine shop for the MHG prep.
I am thinking new bearings but I am just curious if anybody with experience can chime in with an opinion.
Thanks.

if the prepwork wasnt done on for the mhg then you have to think about the machining work on the bottom end.Measure it all up and check it and see if its within spec.As for reusing the bearings ive only built 3motors (4th is getting machine work/balanced ready for me to put together) and hadnt reused the bearings due to the age.Is there any markings on the soft side of the bearings?

Bearings arent expensive at all and they are a wear item so I would just replace them, no sense in having to tear it down again, even if they are fairly new, and you said yourself the shop that built it was all retards.

Alright, good points guys. New bearings it is. Just as well I live about 5 miles from Jay Marks Toyota here in Houston. I will run up there when I know the sizes as I think the toyota bearings are the way to go.
