Greetings everybody!
I'm about to embark on my project.
I'm burning enough oil on startup and hard accelation that I've decided to do a valve stem seal replacement.

I've reviewed the SOGI procedure and it seems clear enough. As long as I'm in there, I was considering swapping out the OEM headbolts (torqued to 58 ft-lbs.) with some ARP head studs. I'm thinking if I remove one bolt at a time and follow the torquing pattern, that I'll be alright.

Has anyone else done this? Any thoughts/obvious flaws in my plan?

Also, is there a figure that the stud itself should be torqued into the block?

Is there anything else that I should be replacing while it's apart? I'm going to do the cam cover screwbolt "mod"... anything else?

One last thing...OEM toyota stem seals are best choice?

Thanks.
Josh

Reply to my own thread.
Other things to replace during the project:
Stupid, flaking spark plug galley cover.
Spark plugs (Mine were pretty bad from the valve covers leaking, and the oil in the cylinders.)
If you don't mind pulling the crankshaft pulley:
Timing belt if you haven't lately.
Front main seal.
Oil pump driveshaft seal.
