I have a few rep points, so I may have seen this more than most.
When you recieve a positive rep point, it is merely a showing of appreciation, understanding, gratitude, or even just to show how much you like something.
Whether it be funny, true, or ironic... but that's not the point.
The thing that I've noticed is people will rep you like "haha lol that was good!!! (plz return rep)" or "(get me back)"
Sort of makes me wonder why. Is it that important? I was never starving for points, begging for returns... I don't see it as a game, but at the same time I'm not like "wow. IJ has a LOT of points, he's better than ____________."
I mean, it's not to be taken incredibly serious, as a lot of my rep that I give out is jokingly, or like "lol you got that right!" but, it's well deserved.
I'm not gonna rep someone because they ask for it.... in fact, I will shy away from repping said person because of it. Until I see a worthwhile post, anyhow.
Maybe it's just me, but does it seem selfish to say "hit me back" or "return rep"?
duscuss?
