Front axle: Go to the on-line TSRM, start at page FA-9 under the section (front axle hub - removal and installation.)

Rear axle: Got the on-line TSRM, start at page RA-7 under the heading (removal of rear axle hub)

Whoa.. you guys actually take the hubs off to replace wheel studs??

Thats a little too much for me.

Take the wheel studs to a bench grinder. Make one sode of the back flange flat. Remove the caliper and you should have just enough room to slide it in.

they shouldnt be breaking unless your tightening them on with a breaker bar. chances are that your overtorqueing every time you tighten one. always use a torque wrench when tightening lugs nuts.

What kind of wheels are you running? Ive wondered is there any risk of breaking studs if you run an aftermarket wheel thats lug centric and dont use a hub ring. Anyone?

Also, the stock studs are too short for many aftermarket wheels. Remember, they're designed to be used with a "shouldered" lug nut that protrudes into the lug hole in the stock wheel to get more thread engagement. When used with an aftermarket wheel and an "acorn" style lug nut, only the first 4-5 threads are engaged and it puts excessive pressure on the studs and causes them to break.

When I installed my AZP Big Brake kit, i installed 300mm ARP lug studs designed for a Lexus IS300 to allow for proper thread engagement with my aftermarket wheels and the spacers I had to install to clear the brakes...

Food for thought...

yeah this is one of those things that you do not want to do "for the hell of it"

can you say remove the hub assembly and PITA..... you might as well replace the bearing when you are there....
