Has anyone bought one of those molded OEM carpet kits for their supra? I'm looking for some that has a tighter pile than the original so its easier to clean. Would've kept mine but the wiper fluid line that conveniently runs under the passenger side seats failed, so I'm writing it off as ruined. I was wondering how I was going through the fluid so fast..

Oh, if someone can explain what the different types of pile are, that would be great. The descriptions are kinda vague.

I bought a new carpet about a month ago and installed it. I didn't want to go ebay cause it just seemed too risky. I found stockinteriors.com and called them up. They sent me 5 "close" match samples. None were exact but the closest was good enough to "almost match the door carpet". I ordered:

Passenger Area Molded Carpet, plush cut pile, added mass backing.

Arrived a few days later in a box so I set the weekend aside to get it installed.

I cut it out roughly and worked my way around the car. I spend a good part of Saturday and some of Sunday. You want to have lots of them utility knife blades handy cause if you even touch the metal they dull and it's a big difference. Get a pair of leather gloves.

One big difference is that the stock carpet has these nylon runners for under the door trim that these don't have. I had to improvise a way and it worked out great. If I had a staple gun for that I would have done it closer to stock.

I ran into "moulding" problems in the back. Although it is molded the mass backing (which the car had in originally stock ) makes curves harder. It doesn't sit perfect around the rear corners (next to passenger seats) and the hump back seat is a bit awkward.

I didn't want to buy the matts they offered cause the shipping cost skyrocketed and it would have cost me another $40. I did find a good match at walmart for $10 (all 4 matts) and it seriously looks great. At that price I can buy another set without any concern. I walked in with a sample and instant install right there in the parking lot.

I have never regretted it. Looks like it was delivered from the factory this way.

Consider the ultra plush for the higher fiber count - The one I got was just fine for me and the mass backing - dude.....That is the only way to go otherwise the carpet is thin like that fake grass people put on the patio. They'll send you a sample but be forewarned that the color selection gets real slim at that point.

Added a pic before and you can see that these stains aren't coming out.

I put an auto custom carpet brand carpeting in mine ,laid my old carpet in it to mark the holes for everything, than just finished trimming it up once it was in the car.didn't have the plastic along the rockers either, fit pretty well though,(probably would fit easier if I still had the factory soundproofing on the floorboards) all in all pretty happy with the finished result
