Removing importers writing on engine set

how did you all remove the writing on the upper timing cover???

mine has 1JZ and some numbers written n white how did you guys remove that?

all joking aside, try some goo gone, is it a paint that you are refering to?

Try sandpaper. I'm sure it's already been suggested but it'll most likely get the job done

Brake or carb cleaner, some towels and some elbow grease.
You might also want to try some of those Gojo wipes. They are like wet shop towels with an abrasive cleaner soaked in.

goo be gone should work from home depot. it removes spray paint and permanet markers so it shold work

i wasnt kidding about the acetone. it should work great. im pretty sure it wont dissolve the plastic.

^^^ yea i know i hate it

i used purple power degreaser on my intake mani to clean it up and MOST of the writing came of (the permanent marker came off but the white chalk paint stuff didn't) i was gonna use the purple power on the timing cover but you have to dilute it 10 parts water to 1 part PP and i didn't want to risk fucking up the cover. i'll try goo gone first as i really dont want to use sand paper on it as its a VERY noticeable piece when you open the hood lol

hey its ok!

ive cleaned the most nasty sttuborn stuck on disgusting shit off of fiberglass on the inside of boats with acetone. its very good for smooth non porous surfaces.

interesting i will try the carb cleaner and goo gone first and then step to the acetone if need be

nah im at work i will try it this weekend new house has a friggin 60 watt light bulb for the garage and its always dark when i get home so i do the stuff during the day

wiring harness will get started this weekend and then thats all

still needing a driveshaft tho so that sux but atleast i can get it installed and running without it
