the only emissions equiptment i would recomend removing would be the cat. check the vendors for a test pipe to replace it. leave the egr and vac canister.

Yea that was going to be taken off with the rest, i will just gut out the cast and leave em, in Missouri they have visual inspections. Also is my Supra a California car or something? it has 2 cats and 2 mufflers. Its soon to be 1 gutted cat and a Fart Can.

You can ID a California car by a temp sensor in the exhaust area monitoring EGR flow.

Don't remove the "smog" equipment. It does not cost you any power. If you have a track car, that is different. Even the EPA will allow it if you never drive on a public road again.

i was thinking of welding the shell of my old cat somewhere on my catless exhaust just in case a cop were to look under there. did that ever happen to anyone? anyone else have that idea too?

By the way, a gutted cat doesn't flow worth a shit compared to an off road down pipe. And if you are caught, you will owe uncle sam a hefty fine. Get a real downpipe, and save your old.

i thought of doing that, BUT.....
if a cop does look under there and sees a tampered cat. you might be in trouble:biglaugh: (towed, impound fees, inspection, rapair.fines...)
it could end up costing a ton...
i got a magnaflow high flow cat << $85 cad and see through flow;)
i had a couple of police officers look down there and never said a word:evil2:

Speaking of emisions, do you guys see any problem with changing my timing so that i have valve overlap? I am tring to figure out a way to pass emisions when the time come since by then i will be running a RonR. FFIM with no egr. Do you see any danger in it? Think it youls work?

big negative

you are increasing the internal diameter of the tubing which there by decreases the velocity of the gases. This causes back pressure as you are going from a high velocity portion of the pipe to a lower velocity area. Not a great idea!

Anyone who knows anything about fluid dynamics will be able to tell you how stupendously ignorant that statement is. But why fight it?

Since you already know everything, why are you asking questions?

If you want flow get a 3'' down pipe and hollow out the secondary cat and put a 3'' tube through it. So that whay it looks like you have the secondary cat and essentially you have a test pipe.

Crap, for all the work of hollowing out the stock cat, and then trying to shove a 3" pipe through a 2.5" hole, why not JUST BUY A HIGH FLOW CAT OF THE 3" VARIETY?

Just thinking outside the box here gentlemen.

The PD will not fault you for having a AM cat. "These are wear items Officer, and mine was worn out, and they do not sell the stock one for my old car, so the local muffler shop sold me this one"

You get the idea.
