removing drivers seat w/o power

So the seat in the 89 is stuck in farthest back position where I cant get to the bolts.

I'm going to take the cover off and apply power to the connections per tsrm.

As I've never jumped one before would like a little help. Do I ground the neg coming from the 12v and just apply power to jumpers #2 and #9. Already know I need to move the seat forward.

That diagram shows where you want continuity (between 5-11 LH). If you also look at moving it backwards, it also shows checking 5-11. In my opinion, you would ground your negative, and one would go forward, and the other backward.
