Well before you read this, I should tell that I'm kind of a noob, but I know some stuff about the supra. My friend just got his grampas old car; a built supercharged regal. I know for a fact that it's fast(yeah I know, not your average buick). His mods are an intake, LS1 corvette throttle body, Z06 Corvette MAF, header, 3" down pipe, high flow cat, 3" cat back, ported supercharger intake manifold, supercharger pulleys, whipple supercharger and everything tuned up to 18PSI with a crazy suspension set up. My question is how much money would I have to spend and what would I need to install to keep up/take on his regal? I have a stock 88'' 5spd turbo that's pretty much stock and one really competitive owner. LOL. Any help?

you would need 500rwhp or more. whipple sc's are good for about 600. and he's pushing 18psi tuned! good luck!

including the price of the car, I would say about 10k-12k for a built motor, big single kit, fuel support + management, get it tuned right and you would be able to put the smack down on him.

those regal also have a live axle out back. They are MEANT for dragging unlike our IRS.

That is why the Grand national can sink into the 12's and 11's with just a click off the dial.

yea, but can the kid handle the car, you dont give a kid a freakin 500 hp monster, thats stupid.
not to be an ass, but i give him less than a year and he has wrecked it minor or major, 500hp isnt something you get in and go. you got to learn, and being his first car, i assume?

He knows how to drive surprisingly. Atleast I think he does, he's always out racing and he's taken out a few STi's too. I haven't heard of his loses yet though. Btw it's only his weekend car, his daily is a Celica GT with a ct26.

Being able to beat people and being able to handle a car are 2 different things.

Unless he has done some real racing, I doubt his experience level is high enough to handle a 500hp car. Beating someone on the highway is child's play compared to handing someone their ass in a drag or autocross type race
