right now i am takin it up to 7k on my bone stock 1jz making near 500hp..

is it safe to take it higher. or is it pointless with the stock cams.

mainly i just wanna know whats a safe limit.

probably pointless with stock valve train. don't push it too hard or you can have some upper engine damages...your valves/springs/retainers may not be able to handle the high rpms. Stock cams will max out etc.

My stock 1JZ redlined at 8000 I heard you can go up to 8300 on stock valve train.
With BC group buy titanium springs & cams you can go up to 9000.

The stock cams peter off at ~7300 so if you raise the redline it wont hurt but it wont do you any good.

The OEM twins & Cam but other mods were done.

I presently have a GT35R T4 DBB now with 750cc & aeromotive fuel pump with supporting mods twin disc etc. I hope to use cams & spring upgrade because I have a 1.06 http://www.atpturbo.com/Merchant2/m...OD&Product_Code=GRT-TBO-032&Category_Code=GRT

I wont peek out 650HP+ until a high RPM

Stock cams stop building power a little over 6k, I've taken mine to 7500 countless times but there is no additional power to be had up there. I upgraded to BC 272's and BC springs/retainers, peak power at 8k and 9k float limit.

well i have a set of 2jz cams machined for 1jz i wanna install but might wait till winter.
im used to mustangs and dsms not used to the jz cams and the shimming thing.

I'm such a pussy. I have the BC 272 small core cams, upgraded springs and retainers and I still don't go past 7500rpm.............oon:

I thought the jz motors were non interference?

I dont think it does as much damage as interference design like valve piston contact, but having your intake valves float while exhaust gases are being pushed whats supposed to be the exhaust valves only is bad you start to cook injectors etc.

If you go with large core 272 or larger it becomes interference.
