So my story begins last september when I bought my baby. A white 1989 Turbo 5-speed Targa. Car already had a K&N intake, Blitz Nur Spec exhaust + 3" DP, Tokico blues and Eibach springs. It was in decent shape, other than the BHG and bumpers needing some paint. So i bought it for $2000 + $150 for a set of 17" Konigs.
Here she is when i bought her.
I actually sourced a JDM engine set/tranny to replace the stocker just because the original engine had a BHG as well as 170k+ miles on it, was leaking from everywhere and i wanted to get this thing on the road ASAP.
After replacing almost every seal, gasket, hose and belt on the JDM motor as well as retorquing the head to 72ft/lbs, I stuck it in.
It ran perfect!!! Wow was I happy to experience boost.
But unfortunately, I got a BHG 4k miles later..
Sooo, I used the graphite HG from my gasket set and got some ARP studs to install as well.Back on the road, it has been running perfectly without skipping a beat for almost 6k miles now. I also installed a lotek 2 pod pillar with prosport white/green oil/boost gauges.
A month ago I got tired of my messed up, ugly bumpers and decided it was time for them to get painted. I did ALL of the repair work myself as well as priming them, and took them to a friend to get them sprayed. They turned out pretty well aside from being maybe 1 shade off..But im not complaining since i have about $150 in them.
I also got some polishing compound and compounded the whole body as well as doing some touch up's in the few places. I also got some new tires and stuck the wheels on there. It'll do for now.
