Well I was originally planning on a 1jzgte swap, but I'm think that could get expensive and run into lots of troubles. Current ride is a 89 7mge with 210k on it. No issues right now. Full exhaust done. Power steering just bloew out earlier when I was about to leave though, ugh. All the fluid squirted out around the left wheel but I'll figure it out soon.

Anyways this car is a daily driver. Looking to rebuild, I think the bottom end would be fine. As in, replace seals, gaskets, (Thick head gasket to lower compression a bit), and any issues with valves.

Then try to get a turbo system on, on low boost most likely, dont think I need to run 30psi on a daily driver haha. Any opinions on how much this can cost? And is the engine worth boosting after a reseal and what not?

Looking for 300hp+.

Just buy a 7mgte.. Stock na pistons/rods wont hold much or atleast for very long.. If your going to rebuild you might as well get a BHG turbo motor and rebuild it. Sell your 7mge.

If I was in a rebuild situation and had an N/A.. I would either go with the 1JZ or 2JZ swap or do a complete rebuild with forged internals (approx. 10,000 just for the build.. thats including a fully rebuilt and ported head). I think the swap is about the same or slightly less than a full rebuild... The swap would be the same on a turbo car I think because the ECU would still have to be replaced and I think with a 7MGTE you only have a couple points to look at to make it work (ECU being one of them). I believe (I could be wrong) that the wiring harness for both is the same except for 1 or 2 plugs, but overall a simple changeover.

I would love to delve into a NA-T setup, however, there are a lot of issues, so if you go that route, you better make sure you know the whole path. I tip my hat to those who run them successfully. To me.. that is a good accomplishment.

I have heard some people rebuilding for about 3000, however.. I have also seen a ton of Supras for sale with BHG... go figger.. :)

n/a-T is tricky for people who dont know what they are doing. Devin has much experience and has access to a performance shop.
