o.k. so i bought an '89 turbo for my wife and it has low compression. everything runs great and the car is real tight, just slow. I want to have it rebuilt if i can find someone to do it reasonably, or i want to get a jdm motor from someone reputable, if their is such a person. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Buy a jdm one or whatever country it comes from, as long as it tests out fine, so oyu can run the car again. Rebuild the one from your car and do it right while you still drive the car. Get it decked, bored, honed, miced, blueprinted, tanked, deburred, and then you're good to go. It all depends on how soon you want it to drive.

Since its winter now, and she has another car to drive. Putting a JDM engine in would be a waste of 1k that could be used to rebuild... Sometimes its better to save money and leave it sitting... My $.02

i bought her a rebuilt motor for 1500.00 i have to use my intake and turbo. it comes with new oil pump, remanufactured head, new pistons, main bearings, new plugs, wires, and all new gasket set for exhaust and turbo. i didnt think it was a bad price. he's charging me 800.00 toinstall with a three year unlimited warranty.

That seems pretty good actually. 3 year warranty is damn good. www.jarcoinc.com sells 7m long blocks for i think 800 bucks shipped? Don't remember. But the deal you have sounds good enough.
