I've heard of it but what does the "Waterfall Sound" from behind the dash mean?

I have an Automatic, and it seems to be missing first gear all together, i have to hit the pedal pretty hard just to get her goin, and it only shifts once(2-3rd), my mechanic said it might be some 1st-2nd gear solenoid in the tranny that is stuck open so i dont have a first....does this sound like the problem?

How many miles at what RPM should i drive before any hard boosting? (i've heard 500-1000)

There are two schools of thought on this subject, some say get it to full operating temp and then just step on it and drive it hard from day 1 others say go easy on it for the first 500 or so miles if your going to take the second option try to avoid extended periods of constant engine speeds. you need to work the engine through different loads and speeds to bed everything in.

1) What IJ said :biglaugh:

2) Make sure the electronic harness is connected properly and the ground is good. There's a speed sensor (driver's side rear of tranny)...if you changed trannys, you might have an earlier version. I had to swap mine out w/ my old tranny...did a lot like yours. There's another speed sensor in the dash speedo...it needs to work on an Auto as well.

3) I ran mine normal for the 1st 500 miles...you want to vary rpm, but I didn't do any heavy boosting. Don't idle the motor for long times to burp the cooling system. Change the oil & filter at 500 miles...you can switch to syn oil then too.

ok thanks for the help

Update: P/S fluid is leaking from somewhere still trying to pinpoint it exactly, and when i put the tranny into LOW, first gear works pretty good and the pedal isnt hard, so why would first work when in low but in drive it skips it???
