Are there any aftermarket, OEM equivalent if I have to replace these or is the factory replacement from the Toyota dealer parts department the only option? I know A2 Motorsports have replacements for the front upper control arm. But it seems that no one makes or offer OEM equivalent replacements for the rear upper control arms.

It looks like the bushing on my rear control arms needs replacing, which can be purchased seperately from venders such as the one on this forum. But I have no idea if the balljoints still good or not. If they are not, it would be required that a whole new upper control arm be used.

oem bushings can be had for relatively cheap, as can the energy suspension ones. Install can be a bit tricky without a press though.

I understand that there are Energy Suspension bushings and that a press would be needed to install them.

Is there another source for Rear Upper Control Arms other than a Toyota dealer?

There are a few aftermarket options for the rear UCA's, but I'd stick with OEM. I'm an OEM Toyota whore. LOL.

I think that Beck/Arnley (sp?) makes some, and I'm pretty sure A2 has them as well.

The bushings are relatively easy to press in/out if you have a few large sockets. (One just smaller than the bushing hole, the other just larger. Be very careful, though, as you can easily nick the aluminum. ;)

I had access to a press for all my bushing installs except the rear UCA's.

There is a source for arms besides Toyota: the junkyard.

If the old bushings are toast, cut 'em out and push in new ones from Energy.

Fortunately, you don't need a press to push in new bushings. They conveniently have this hole in the middle for a bolt. A long 1/2" bolt (or all-thread) and some large washers (like off the front uppers) makes a nifty little press for pushing in new bushings. That's what I've done. A couple of large sockets can be useful as well (3/4 drive works best).

ps you'll also want that piece of all-thread with two nuts and two washers for moving the insert in the rear spindle so you can get the shock back in...
