Trying to find the right size replacement weatherstripping for the rear hatch. I'm planning on buying some universal replacement stripping from jcwhitney, but am not sure of what dimensions.

Here is what jcwhitney has; the first one looks pretty good (ZX132565N)

Anyone had success with a specific design/measurement combo for the rear hatch??

Thanks

Buy it from Toyota.

It's like $48 when you get it online. MOAR BETTAR!

Wow, I would have thought that it would be at least double that much from the stealership...I've got a friend at Toyota who should be able to get it to me for wholesale; I'll just go that route.

BTW, what part numbers are the rear tail light gaskets??

Thanks!

Check the "PART NUMBER LIST" thread that is stickied at the top of this forum.

(EDIT: Even if it was double, I'd still recommend getting it at the dealership. Take one for the team, OEM wins).

Ah there it is, I'll open up my eyes a bit wider next time, haha...and yes, I am beginning to realize that OEM wins with this car.

I better start selling some spare parts soon, my wallet is getting light lol

thanks

Yep. Some of the OEM stuff is not NEARLY as expensive as I'd think it would be - but then, some really stupid stuff is insane expensive for what it is.

*always* go OEM if you can.

Another important point is to never assume it's too expensive to go OEM. Always check first.

My entire theory is that if you are not upgrading to a performance part, OEM should be used unless it is unbelievably cost prohibitive or discontinued.

Parts are quite a bit more expensive in Canada than the USA as well, but the rules of my theory still apply, you may just hit the "unbelievably cost prohibitive" mark before someone in the US would.

Can't hurt to check.

I'm sure its the dealer, those are pretty unique and I wouldn't trust aftermarket...
