 Ok so I am driving down the road one day, and out of no where I start hearing this hummm from the back of my car, and as I gave it more gas it gets louder, and it doent really make noise when I am coasting. So when I got home I thought one of my rear calipers siezed, but it was ok, then I look at my diff, and I see that there were some drips of oil on it, and i check the lube, and I needed some badly:3d_frown: So I end up fitting almost 2 bottles of gear lube in the diff. As I drive it now, I can still hear the hummm. Is my diff about to go out? If so what could I be looking to spend for a 3.9 LSD, and would anyone here have one? I currently have an open diff. Welll please and thanks Ricardo.

Got any visible leaks? was the fill plug on tight? Look it over and make sure the fluid isn't escaping from somewhere. Other than that, rip that open diff out, this is your excuse to go LSD.

Mine's doing the same kinda thing, but it's an LSD--90 turbo. Dunno what the gear ratio is though...I think it's a 3.9, I know it's not a 4.10

What weight oil are you guys running in your LSD's?

The '90 Turbo has a 3.73 LSD.

Ford 75W-90 LSD oil is good. You will also need the Ford frictrion modifier; start out with about 1/2 an oz...you may have to add more later if you get clatter. When you drain the LSD, remove the fill plug 1st.

If you want to use a synthetic LSD oil, Redline 75W-90 (not the NS)...it already has the friction modifier in it.
