I did a quick search but did not come up with much. I have a jza70 ttr with the torsen diff. My question is that I have been having a whining noise lately since I went to the track but its only making noise when I'm coasting along (not on the throttle or decelerating). Is this noise coming from my diff by any chance since I have heard the torsen's being weak when it comes to launching.

I planned on checking the oil this coming weekend. Its hard to do this sort f work for me as I live in an apartment so I'm always relying on friends/family to use their driveways/shops. As far as highway pulls - of course! Thats what our cars were made for lol.

I come from a land down under
If it's at all low and you've done high speed runs chances are it's fried the front pinion bearing :(

With it on stands and in neutral/e brake off turn the tailshaft and see if you can feel any grinding/notchiness.

I'll definitely give that a shot. I'm hoping nothing is too screwed up. I've been trying to drive it nicely since the whining started but who knows. I have bad luck sometimes. Just out of curiosity, does anyone have a rear diff for sale?

Did you have the LSD installed in your housing?

If so, I'd say the gear mesh was not set correctly.
In which case, you are turning the gear set into silver-gray paint.....
