Hey,
Obviosly, I am new here. I am 15 (turning 16 in august) and am obsessed with supras. For a long time i have been in love with cars, and after many months, and years of searching i have found the perfect car fom me...
the mkiii Supra!
I have a good amount of money saved up so far (bout 2 grand), but not enough to buy a good supra (yet). I am working 3 jobs this summer, one at a mechanic shop, one caddying, and one at a bike shop, all for the sole purpose of saving up for a car. I am also selling TONS of usless stuff on ebay. In a nutshell, I am dedecated to buying a supra. I would have bought one already, and be working on it right now, but my dad insist that my first car actually runs when I buy it.

IF ANYONE HAS A CAR FOR SALE (NOT IN THE FOR SALE SECTION) OR KNOWS OF A GOOD DEAL... PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!!!

I am not looking for just any supra. I want to buy one with a 7mgte, manual tranny, preferebly 90-92, and targa tops. TEMS would be nice too, but I am planning on replacing my coilovers with tien ss as soon as possible!

If anyone has any advice for me, that would be nice.
Thanks allot (if you actually read it) and I will see you in the forums!

What I want to do...
When starting off, I want to keep the stock exaust system from the cat back, but put in a BIC performance downpipe with a divorced test pipe that i can open and close from the dash. To prevent leaking headgaskets, or even blowing them, I want to put in a stronger head gasket right away (any suggestions??). I will start off with a manual boost controller and a boost meater, but later on an electronic controller would be nice. In terms of the intake, I cant seem to find any short ram/cold air intakes out there except HKS:1zhelp: , but i have heard that they are very dirty, so that is out of the lot (any suggestions??). I might just put in a new filter with some kind of splash guard (temporarly). Later on i will probably rebuild the CT26 with better parts, new intercooler and piping, 550cc ingectors, new fuil pump (ect...) and a bigger exaust (I like the hks dragger). Also I will probably rebuild the bottom end, or the whole engine with lightweight parts. In terms of suspention, I would like to put in tien ss coilovers, front and rear sway bars, and other various suspention components. I really like the gold RSB wheels by HDwheels, but I dont think they would be big enough for a supra. In terms of cosmetics, i LOVE the Akushia body kit (http://translate.google.com/transla...arshop.com/axia/&langpair=ja|en&hl=en&ie=UTF8) its kinda rare, but here it is! otherwise, I would like to track down some clear turn signals, and convert the headlights to hd. Of course, If i were to put such a nice body kit on, i would paint it, not just leave it bondo (i see that WAY too much!).

Waddya think?? any suggestions?? This is just me thinking, and i would probably do more with more money, not that this isnt allot already... but whatever. :icon_bigg

welcome to the site, looking for a mk3 supra is kinda harder than you may think, especially a 90-92 model with targa. In my opinion if you find an mk3 supra with a solid body for a good price then go for it. Most supras you see for sale are hurt body wise or mechnaically (BHG, bad first gear).

Will be cheaper to do the elbow grease and stuff than fix the horrid interior/exterior. But thats from my experience since mechanics are in my family and not auto body personal. Others might beg to differ though. Good plans and good luck with your project, just dont let it go overboard lol. Good luck!

iv heard allot about blown head gaskets, an obvious problem for supra owners, but i have never heard anything about bad first gears?? ill do some reasearch, but if anyone could fill me in on what happenes, that would be great! haha, i hear allot about going broke, thankfully im at boarding school (making this an underground project, i will probably hide it at a day students house) so all my life exenses are paid for, and i have many jobs over the summer to fund this project.

in response to impulsedrive's comment about elbow grease, i will probably not even look at the interiour untill i have a car running 12's at the track, not that that will be easy or cheap... just for future refrence, i am not into drag racing, i prefer autocross. i have driven my dads car (stick 911!!!!! ;) ) and turning is ALLOT more fun than driving in a strait line!

Best of luck on your Find... In terms of Air Intake... I have an Apexi Kit on its way. I hear it is the best out there so i would look into that. the 7MGTE has more so just a filter vs a short ram intake... atleast what I consider any intake... (must consists of atleast 1 pipe to replace stock)
