So I'm working on buying a new house, my Honda Accord beater died on me, and the Supra gave up 3 piston rings after 216k miles @ 16psi.
What do I do about it?
First, a new daily driver:
'05 Colorado Sport Extended Cab, 5 cylinder/5 speed, 36k miles on the clock. 220hp/225tq from a DOHC I5, with 90% of the torque available from 2000rpm up.
And yes, it is going to see some WORK. Parts hauler FTW
Which brings me to the real problem - my Supra. I love her to death, but I sat down, and did some real serious thinking. The fact of the matter is, if I go through with the build I want to do, it's going to cut into my downpayment for the house. I also have to admit, that I've lost sight of my true goal with my Supra - a supremely reliable, moderately quick (high 11s, low 12s), head turner of a sports car. Fact is, I don't need more than 450rwhp to do what I want to do.
That said, my 7M is undergoing a much more moderate rebuild, this time around. Later, when I have a real GARAGE to house the Supra, I'll start working on a monster build.
So what am I going to put in her?
A set of standard aluminum alloy stock style pistons. Recon the rods, and balance the whole nine yards. Until I'm ready to go standalone with a true T4 based turbo, I'm going to stick with the basic stock bottom end, as I don't believe I will ever truly stress the stock internals with 375rwhp (My goal on the 57 trim CT26).
Next week is the last week of school, so expect a load of updates around then
