Hi guys
This may sound stupid,i would like to swap a rb26 nissan skyline engine into a mk 3 supra.´Why??.i`ve got a gtr32 skyline and i am tired of sitting in the wrong side of the road:sarcasm:,and dont want to build a lhd skyline.I have bought a lot of parts for the rb26 and wont sell them only to loose a lot off money.since i had a mk3 supra before and loved it,i thought why not dump the rb in a mk3??here`s the question, had any one in here done that, and what do i need??Know that TOP SECRET did a mk4 whith a rb26 but havent heard off any mk3. Any help is welcome.

If you have to ask a question that brod, then this swap isn't for you...You can put any engine in any car..will it be easy prolly not....I would first start with messurements of the rb26(motor mounts, trans mount) then compare it with the mkIII chassy..

search is your friend.

if its not on these forums, which i doubt. and search on google with different, multiple keywords. If nothing, you shouldnt even attempt it. especially if your not going to even do any preliminary work.

IMO, keep the RHD skyline, its badass enough.

well, seeing that im living in japan, and have been for a while, i havent seen any RB motors swaped into any cars other then silvia's, but i have seen loads of 1, and 2JZ motors swaped into R32,33 bodys, cause the RB motors are nice, dont get me wrong, but its much easyer to make power out of a JZ motor, then a RB motor.

as far as the build would go, the mounts would have to be custom, thats a no brainer, but dont forget you must set the motor in at slight lean, that all the RB motors have, or else youll having oiling problems.

the trans would be the only other part, cause youll have to stick with a RB25 trans, cause the RB20 trans isnt worth a damn spit, plus there longer then lets say a R154 trans, so youll have to move the trans brace back about 5inches i think if i remember right.

plus youll also have to replumb the fuel system to the other side of the car seeing that RB intake manifolds are on the (US) passenger side.

other then that, i think most of everything else should be ok, cause the oil pan set ups are pritty much the in the same spots, the only other thing i can think of for that would be the firewall clearence.

but thats just my $.02

i agree with the people keep the rhd skyline for the simple fact of its a car that the US will never legaly import besides the new gt-35r? not much of a skyline nut. sorry. you will a than have a supra and a skyline lol. :naughty: but as i am a big beliver of doing what oyu want and being orignial GO FOR IT!!!!. as obvious custom motor mounts and all that will have to be made. idk about shifter positin a custom shifter will probably ahve to be in the works. also make sure the fulcrum on the shifter is set up right. there's a lot of work to be done and if you plan on going full out build. you mien as well look into a haltec system or a MoTeC system. just so most of oyur wriing is taken care of and the harness isnt a big deal. but Gl with everything and keep us updated +1 for something newish

Thanks guys. iI know its a big build the only reason was the new parts i have on the shelf. (HKS cams, HKS cam gears and belt, HKS t04z turbo,HKS injectors,HKS valvesprings,HKS type R intercooler,HKS pipe kit,HKS fuel rail,HKS,Exidy tripple plate clutch etc etc.I tryed to sell on some gtr forums but people wont even pay half price  .My thought was that it is easyer to do a engine swap than convert the skyline into LHD.But big thanks for the help.Maybe i will do a 2jz ma70 and make the manifold fuelrail injectors etc fit. Then the only parts i cant use are the cams, springs, belt, clutch, and some nismo parts:3d_frown:

sounds like a huge hassle man. all because you dont like RHD?.. I know of a few skyline guys who swapped out the RB in favor of the JZ. not the other way around though.
