Rattling exhaust

My exhaust rattles...

Stock exhaust on pretty much a stock 7MGTE.
Ever since my engine rebuild the exhaust seems to 'rattle' and sometimes 'gurgles'. My initial thoughts were that something got stuck in the exhaust somewhere near the tip when it was sitting in my garage for 6 months.

I just wanted to check that there couldn't be something more sinister creating these horrible noises from under the car...

More detail: the rattle seems to come more from the rear of the exhaust. Putting my foot on the exhaust tip lightly seems to muffle the rattle slightly. The rattle gets worse when I shift from PARK into REVERSE.

Any suggestions/ideas?

Thanks

about 4 months after i put the engine in mine i ended up getting a rattle, and then it started getting loud....

ended up just had to tighten up the exhaust pipe to the manifold and that fixed the issue

i had a similar rattle sound coming from my exhaust, only sounded when it was initialy warmming and went away as the exhaust pipe got hot.I checked all the shields, and they were tight. Turned out the converter honeycomb(yea, yea, yea!) was coming apart INSIDE its casing. Check wid a ball peene hammer.

haha, my exhaust rattles slightly, it's due to a worm clamp that someone put on the exhaust pipe to support it to the car, is loose and rattling on the pipe, and i can't get it off because it's rusted and frozen in place... :( I'll have to take some cutters to it ;)

after i put in new motor ive had mega rattles and bouncing of the zorst. Ive had a crushed cat before and it was about 2yrs in total before all the honeycomb worked its way out. Give it a little tap here n there n see if anything "bounces" inside. if you can unbolt your muffler (sif u need a excuse to drive around with no muffler) and go for a quick blast and shake the muffler around n see if anything comes out.

Heheh thanks for the tips guys, I'll check that all out. I'm looking for a new exhaust soon anyway, so i'm not hugely worried about it (other than it being mighty annoying!). I just wanted to check that it couldn't be something damaging my engine... :)

miggles... your style of writing seems awfully familiar, or maybe i'm just a little psycho, hehehe... ;)
