Goddamnit!:aigo::runaway::crazy1:::hang::

Next braided steel hose I see with a hose clamp on it, I think I'm going to go postal. If you want to use braided hose for whatever reason, use the hose ends as well. They go together for a reason! If you just have to use hose clamps, use a regular friggin' hose!! If you don't know how to put the hose ends on, bring it to someone who does!

I didn't think this was a difficult concept but, I have seen so many Supras with this crap I can't believe it. It looks like garbage, it doesn't seal correctly and worst of all, the frayed ends of the braid are the most efficient torture implement ever devised.

Discuss.

I come from a land down under
Got ya back on this one Brian!

I HATE clamped Braided lines with a passion.
(anyone that's ever had a strand under a fingernail will agree)

There are very few legitimate places to use it even with the correct ends in an automotive application.

If you're using it for "looks" get the right ends so it doesn't end up looking like a braided turd.

ok heres the deal for astetics s/c i think it looks ok IF you use the manga clamp ends that are made for the hose. if you use just a plain old clamp yes it does look like shit.

Man I remember the first time I tried to put braided line into one of those fittings... cut my fingers all to hell, and couldn't get it in. I *can* do it now, but its not pretty, and just a pain in my ass. Oh well, at least the other guys got a good laugh out of it. :(

shit, i feel bad about scratching a fitting when installing it because someone might notice...I've never seen somebody use a hose clamp on a braided hose before. I do want to see pictures, however...

From Summit Racing's description
Aeroquip Pro Clamp aluminum hose connectors are made of red anodized aluminum to give your band clamp connections a professional look. These connectors can be used on any rubber or stainless steel braided hose.

I always thought them goofy. drjonez knows them... At least they cover the end of the braid...

A thin strip of electricians tape around the very edge keeps it from fraying while you getit into the fitting.

I've done it countless times and it works fine.

I do the same and It works out very well.

I will agree on the frays. I have had my thumb going pretty good and looking like it was used as a pin cushion.
