Hey Ian, man that takes me back some 40+ years. Used to go on SCCA
road rallys with my dad in his XK150 Jaguar, that was fun! Then I started
driving them in a Sunbeam Rapier that I had for a while. Remember we used
to run night rallys some times with out lights, didn't want others to see where
we were going---crazy! Used to flip the lights on and off for a while just to
see, that all ended though when a good friend ran his Volvo thru a guard rail
and down an embankment, really hurt himself and his girlfriend-navigator
very badly. Never forget it was at the "T" intersection of Lyndon and Johnson
roads back in Indiana.

heh, I kept expecting a 'roo to jump out in front of you, much like deer (and god forbid, elk) here in the NW they seem to be attracted to back road speeders ;)

But wouldnt that be a little more "fun" with trac off? I imagine that takes a different driving style.

Jeff: How so?

LOL @ that vid has had more views in 14 hours than a couple of the others have had in 1>2 weeks :D

You have (imo) everything in your car built for maximum abuse, and then you go and prove it with this video. Plus I love rally and would never expect some to do it with a Supra! And mk3 videos are very limited it seems.

Jeff: Ahhh with ya now and thanks :D

I build "drivers" they have to be able to do everything "well" if not I don't really want it.

In the past I've built specialised single purpose cars and hated that they only did that one thing well.

So far the Supra is THE BEST all rounder I've built as it doesn't try to kill me each time I drive it.

You can cruise through peak hour city traffic with the aircon on then blast a fire road or do 150+ Mph top end runs equally well.

I  my fat car.

It's gone from something barely drivable on dry roads due to wheelspin to something you can stall up on dirt and nail to 7000 though the gears and it just hooks and goes even on dirt!

Just had to watch your video again this morning. Really looks like fun! It's
inspiring how well you have conceived the total purpose of your car. Kind of
like taking the blinders off to the "fun performance" aspect of owning a Supra.
Also allows you to to take full advantage of living in Au. We don't even have
"roads" like that around here, let alone having to watch out for sheep!
Do you have a camera mount in the car or did your navigator do the dual
mode operation? One other question, do you change your wheels and tires
for the dirt-gravel?

The intake that you run also keeps the induction noise down I've noticed. I swear most of the sound in the vid sounded like the transmission...

I thought the same thing, besides the rocks and stuff about all I hear is the whine of gears.

We have roads like that around here as well. I used to run em rally style back in the 80's. Its a lot of fun but my cars were never the technological marvel yours is.
