this sounds weird but, my check light for the radiator level fluid started to act up lately... ive checked the coolant and all when the engine was cold and it was ok, not to mention the overflow tank too... turned the car on for 5 mins to check for white smoke or that sweet coolant smell but there was no visual of such... next i drove the car for 15 mins and i was expecting it to overheat or something but it never did....

ive "burped" the car if thats of any help

does that switch normaly turn on when youre getting lateral g's????
anyone know were id find that sensor??? the electrical diagram confirms its existence but other than that theres no other trace in the tsrm... unless of course im missing something???
i just wanna replace it if its broken...

btw
my mk3 has a fluidyne rad

oh yeah, if you corner hard enough itll slosh all the rad fluid away from the sensor in the overflow tank. ive had it happen a lot when i take a corner fast, itll flicker. it used to do it more often (stay on longer) before i replaced my leaky radiator and topped off my overflow reservoir. i think the sensor is located either in the bottom or side of the reservoir, i see some wires going into it there; maybe its a pump inside (if one exists)

The sensor is located in the overflow tank-
It gets pretty cruddy in there over time, you may wnat to clean out the overflow tank and make sure the sensor float can move freely.

Same problem, I did ^^^^^^^ that, and my problem went away:biglaugh: Just to confirm that is most likely your problem, and wont' cost anything but time to fix! YAY.

hey thanks to everybody for the input :naughty: it would have taken me eons before i could even find out where that darn sensor was, now my car has 117k on it and i think it needs some tlc on minor things like this...

also, theres one other thread that i missed while i was posting this one last night. i wouldnt have missed it if they had it described accurately but hey looks like theres not much tech stuff in there other than them explaining what the dash radiator light was for...

im gonna try to check out the sensor and if i can ill try to post some pics...

thanks again guys...
