I've finally got my 88 turbo running, 85 kms on it now with little smoking now. My insurance company wanted a MVI where the vehicle was over 20 years old. I had a big surprize when I found out that the seals on my rack & pinion were shot..... also that they aren't replaceable - I need a new unit. Is this correct or can the seals be replaced:cry:

The seals are replaceable, but it is not an easy job to do. That's why most shops recommend reman units. Also, you usually get a warranty with a reman rack, too.
