Raced a Lingenfelter Corvette!!

I was on my way home from training at a new job and there was no one on the highway. I am just cruising in the middle lane, and all I here is a bunch of bikes flying up on my ass, so I just get over to the right lane, and let them pass. Following them was a C4 Corvette, It sounded mean. When he got up next to me he slowed down and revved his car wanting me to race, so I figured what the hell. He said a 40 punch and on his third honk,but when we slowed down to 40 I heard his supercharger and I thought damn I'm going to get my ass handed to me.

So I down shifted to second and brake boosted and I thought that I was going to get the jump on him, but he got it on me by 2 cars. When I shifted to 3rd he got about another car on me, then I started to gain a little when shifting in to 4th. Then by the end of 4th I was even with the vette!! By 150 where we shut it down I was ahead by a car and a half. That was one of the best races I have had! I didn't realize what type of vette it was until I had a car on him and saw his window banner.

We pulled over with all the bikes that he was cruising with and that car was really clean, and they were all pretty nice. He said that he had never lost to a Jap car before and I said that there is a first for everything. He said that he was running only a 10psi pulley and was making 432rwhp and he has a 17 pound pulley that should put him at 500+rwhp. They complimented my car and we went our ways.

A Lingenfelter is like a Saleen Mustang, they come with a ton of mods. His came with a 10psi pulley that will put him at about 500 crank hp and a 17psi pulley that would put him at about 600 crank hp. He didn't change a thing from when he bought it he said, but who knows?

I just have the basic bolt ons: Bolt on 60-1 Turbo, 3" exhaust, 660 injectors, HKS IC kit, tial replica BOV, HKS safr, Lex AFM, walbro, afpr and a couple others.

Good job. I can't believe he'd put two car lengths on you with you brake boosting, but I guess that's what torque will do for you...........:biglaugh:

How much boost are you running and have you ever had it dyno'd?

You guys are a trip!!

I was running 20psi, I have dynoed 411rwhp and 409rwtq with 17psi, and I only had one run at 20 psi but only got a hp number at 432rwhp, the dyno was messing up. This was on a mustang dyno though, not a dyno jet.

Now just need to get a standalone ecu and I'll be set.
