well i am in the progress of gathering parts for my 7mgte swap,it will be going into a 84 celica gt coupe,
so far i have the pump, pan,(cressida front sump) motor $100$ 7mgte with every thing but turbo, harnes, and coilpacks (wich was fine for the price, i had ecu and harness), 7m mounts, a heavy duty clutch, tranny wings,m series bellhousin, 5spd harness & ecu 7mgte,
the items i still haven't paid for but have arranged are 5m motor mounts, 7mge flywheel.
my poor celica i purchased for 100 bucks w/ bad rear end, and dent on pass side, replaced rear end and door, still need to pull dent from fender, but this coupe has gt-s wheels and is gona be one hell of a sleeper, need's paint bad too, lol it's gold and has egg damage to the hood, and who knows what else, oh yeah, it developed rod knock on the 22re, it had an oil leak when i bought it, needed a timming chain, and when i replaced it i ruined the head gasket creating a oil leak which is killing the motor, i went through 12 quarts of oil in 3 days., can you say oil change any one?
what is every one doing to get the exhaust past the rear end? or do most deal with the irs and not have to worry about the live axle..? i am planning on running 3 inch exhaust since the 7mgte really comes alive with no restrictions. and thats what i have on my mkiii's.
to sorta sum up this thread, you will see a interesting build of an ugly celica coupe thats gona be transformed into a weekend drift project.
you will see video of destroying the 22re, possibly some more too.
and who knows, this might be a decent instalation guide by the time im finished.
