R154 shifter is it still good to use

Pulled my motor and tranny out my shifter was loose so decided to take it apart and see what the problem was ,also dose anyone know where I can buy replacement studs or bolts that screw on the side that hold the shifter in place

Another if not anyone have a shifter for sale :naughty:

That doesn't look like it was designed for the Supra. Looks more like a Honda style shifter to me. I'd recommend grabbing a used OEM shift lever. How are the guide studs in the shifter housing? Looks like one has taken a beating.

I was trying to find a replacement but didn't find one that looked liked this one , now it makes sense , and as for the guides I would need to replace both . Are they replicable and who's sells them , I ordered the seat bushing for the shifter and also order the little white nipple that grabs the bottom of the shifter ..

Nope, they're part of the housing and not serviceable (through Toyota). You'll need the entire upper shifter housing. You'll also need the 6 bushings, and the large gasket underneath- none of which are cheap. IMO, you'd do well to search the classifieds for a broken R154 that has a good upper housing just for that reason.

That sorta looks like the cheapie made in China ebay short shifter to me. Although I've never seen one retain it's chrome long enough to wear out like that.

I don't believe so. The housing bolt spacings look different from pictures.

The shifter itself is the same between the two, though.
