so i have been reading the thread about supraman and his 62-1 upgrade.

before i start asking, i would like to say that its not my intention to cause an argument nor to offend anyone from any decisions i might make. sorry in advance if it happens.

anyhow, i have talked to the suprasport.com guys a few times via email about their products, and they have always been nuthin short from supportive, so i know they are trustworthy ppl (unlike some other sites i have heard of which i wont mention).

anyhow, my question is this. for the BOSS kit offered by suprasport, around how much power could actually be achieved (on average with correct supporting mods) with 15-17 psi (using the 58 big shaft options)? also, how long does the warranty last?

next, for the 62-1 kit. first, nice job offering yourself as a sacrificial lamb :icon_surp
question, i believe more in using both, water and oil to cool down the system (no offense), so how well does just oil work compared to using both water and oil? since it is a bigger unit than the suprasport one, how much power can it achieve at the same psi levels? also, i didnt see any planned warranty plans, wat would u be willing to offer?

thanks for the answers (and sorry if i asked something that i should have seen the answer to already).

PS: yea, ill mail suprasport for further questions, but i thought these were general questions that some other members might ask in the near future. i sent a friend of mine this forum (cuz its the best one of its class) and he had the same types of questions.

First of all, is there a reason that you are not considering the bolt on SP series turbos?

Down to the ones you have mentioned... unfortunately, actual numbers will be very hard to pin down without putting the unit on your car and running it on a dyno, as SO many factors figure in. Intake piping size and length, exhaust manifold type, exaust size, type, and length, headwork, cams, bore size... there are more.

IMO, the Boss unit should be able to put down more than a 62-1 upgrade on the same system, but until someone actually tries both on the same testbed, my opinion is just that, an opinion.

Also IMO, I'd rather have an SP than either. :D

nm, i went directly to SP's site. i would love it if they had the actual costs of their parts on the site, with more info too.

also, how come SS doesnt sell the SP systems anymore?

The SP's are also purely oil cooled. I just installed a 58 trim BOSS on my supra, as far as what power they make at what boost I do not know. The warranty is for 1 year if you buy their SS lines(no reason not to). The max psi on the 58 trim BOSS is 25 psi and the are rated at 550hp. I will let you know what power I make at 18-20 psi as soon as I get to the dyno for tuning. Just need to fix a couple exhaust and vacuume leaks.
