I did a quick search but I couldn't find my exact answer. So, I'm in the middle of my head gasket retorque and I'm going in the TSRM sequence. However, for some of the head bolts, the cam shafts are in the way. To get them to move I need to move the crankshaft, correct? However, I am just wondering which way I need to turn it. I assume that I should tighten (clockwise/right) it. Is this correct? Thanks guys.

i'm re-torquing this week. i'm just going to pop the timing belt off. it'll save some hassle. i'd rather not have to torque, turn the crank, torque, torque, turn the crank, etc...

turning the timing gears is easier.

so i just pop the timing belt off and turn them as i see fit. then just reset the base timing, ign timing, and i'm done. :)

I just re-torqued last week and I only had to turn the crank 2 times from TDC#1 to get to a spot where there was no cam interference at all. I don't know if you guys think this is a no-no but I loosened each headbolt before re-torque. They seemed to torque smoother and no leaks so far.

So, I finished my retorque. I also put in some Autolite 3923s and the Supra Sport valve cover hex Bolts. It took me a full afternoon but it was worth it. I'll be taking it road racing at Willow Springs in 2 weeks so I'm trying to get her in good condition. Thanks for all the help guys.
