Quick question about air/fuel!

Hey guys, ive been looking around recently and am getting ready to start thinking about air/fuel.

My engine is as follows-

NA-T
GE Block
MHG
ARP's
Full intercooler and piping
BIC DDP

Ect.

Now my question is, im going to be buying a LM-1 wideband. This only monitors the air/fuel ratio. I want to go maf-t pro eventually (spring time) but for now will the LM-1 and a AFPR do for rough tuning? Im nto going to be pushing alot of boost at all. MAYBE 10-13 PSI at MOST.

Will i be safe tuning with a AFPR and LM-1 for now?

Cliffs: An AFPR is not a way to tune your car. It's a way to get to the proper baseline pressure.

You need something like a S-AFC to tune. Get something like or a MAFT that coupled with an LM-1 and they you can really tune.

Trying to tune a car with an AFPR is like trying to train a dog with ball peen hammer, you may get it to do something, but there are 101 better ways to go about it.

In other words, don't do something stupid and screw your car up. Using an AFPR to tune is not a smart move.

Ok thanks. So would the LM-1 and SAFC be a good combo?

I thought, that maf-t pro could tell me my a/f ratio?

So if i jsut want to get a moderate tune, and not blow my car up, a SAF-C and LM-1 woudl be a decent combo?

I've made a little over 600 RWHP with a 7M, T4, Lexus AFM, injectors and a S-AFC.

Yes, the LM-1 and the S-AFC will give you all you need to get a mild tune on it. :)

what size injectors like 750's?

They were 720 cc, which was an off the shelf size at the time from RC. I believe now it's a 750 cc, which would work just as well.

There's a group buy for the maft-pro right now. Why not get the maft-pro right now instead of wasting money on a safc? The better combo you should go with is a LC-1 wideband and the Maftpro. This is because the MAFT Pro was designed to use the LC-1 as a reasonably priced tuning combination.

The LC-1= $175
The LM-1= $320

Yea, that's actually the best idea I've heard so far. The MAFT-PRO is a better tuning tool, and with the savings you get with the LC-1 over the LM-1, you don't spend a fortune.

Does the LM-1 also hook up to the MAFT-Pro and work like the LC-1 will? Some people (me) may want to hide their MAFT-Pro once we have everything running the way we want, but we still need a fast acting digital readout of the A/F ratios...
