ok so i just hooked up my maft basic with the 3 in sensor on my built 7m.

Specs:

JE's .20 over
Eagle h beams
2.0 MHG
Balanced rotating assembly
rebuilt head
3 in from turbo back
4 in intake
Irridioms at .28 gap
560cc injectors
Big IC/3 in pipes Greddy BOV
ARPs throughout engine
6 puck clutch
11lb lightweight Aluminum FW
1 pc steel DS

My settings on the maf-t are as follows:

AUX= 0
BASE= E for 560cc
IDLE= 4
MID= 7
WOT= 7

now im only done the basic tune so far, i have yet to do the WOT RPM tuning.

my car idles with AFRs in the 14.5-15.5 range. When i drive it around, i have the gas pedal just enough to keep it going it will be around 12-13s AFRs, sometimes 11s. When i give it more gas to start goin it will go to the 14-15s.

It basically does what i think should be the opposite. Like shouldnt it be around 14.7 when i giving light throttle just cruising, and when i give it gas it should go richer?? When i give it almost full throttle at takes a couple seconds, but it does go to 13 then to like 12.8-12.3. Sometimes goes to 10 aswell.

I have the stock FPR still, and am working on getting a AFPR now. Im thinking that has something to do with some of the stuff im concerned about.

But what do you guys have as settings for the maf-t? i have all my dials turned towards the right which should make it run richer but it doesnt seem to be right....

Any input would be great.

Thanks

With the WOT RPM tuning, do I need to actually do WOT the whole time? Cause it says says with switch 4 on (rpm mode) that the BASE dial is for 3000 rpm and lower IDLE 3k - 4 and so on.

So when I fine tune the WOT mode, do I need to tune my lower rpm at WOT? Or is that just for normal drivin as well?

With dipswitch #4 in WOT tuning, your base, idle mid and WOT dials become rpm-specific set dials.
Do you have a copy of the manual? It explains all this. You can get the manual online.

Ya I read the manual online. I understand it for the most part, but i just like to hear from people that actually have experience with it... I think you just answered my WOT tuning question. So the tuning without number 4 switch on is like the basic overall AFR settings, then Number 4 switch on Is pretty much rpm specific?

So when I go to the RPM tuning mode, do I turn all the dials back to 0 then start tweaking it? Or just start from where they already are?

Yes- You shut off the motor, flip #4 switch to on, then dial them all to zero to begin with.
However- it's pretty much a complete crapshoot without a dyno. I drive my car in WOT mode(no rpm mode tune)
because I've modded so many things since my dyno session, I couldn't possibly set them right.

ok well i just sorta tuned it in RPM mode. I already feel a huge difference! I have it to like 11.8 at 3/4 throttle and 7 psi in 2nd, third it goes to about 8 psi at 5 k (i have a 1.15 A/R, im getting a smaller turbo soon!!) then it cuts and i get a code 34. So im checking the IC pipes tomorrow. I was reading a different thread and smeone had the exact same problem as me and it was hit Greddy type S leaking, and thats what i have. So im thinking maybe it could be that.

But i will see when i can get on the local dyno to tune it. I just wanted to kinda know what to expect before i pay for a dyno and what not. lol Is it pretty much like on the road? Does it climb faster rpms becuase theres kinda no load on the wheels? lol idk what to expect haha.

But i did tune it a bit and it deff helped alot! im excited to see with when i dyno tune it. And i have a Aeromotive AFPR on the way to!

Well, once you have the afpr in, I think you could probably get pretty close to ideal with your own tuning.
I forgot that you have an AFR gauge, and that's your principal tuning indicator.
Since I don't have one installed yet, I had to leave tuning to a qualified shop.

Oh lol ya I'm happy I got the WB. So that should be good for monitoring it. Ya I'll wait for the afpr before I tune any more. But they let you tune your own stuff on dynos right? Like I don't want the peopleby me that run hondas n shit tune mine like they do theirs. Idk I just don't trust people that don't own a supra or have worked on them, cause they are pretty different than what they're used to, you know! Idk I'll see I guess lol
