ok guys as you know i parted out my 90 supra 7mgte. :( and it killed me. but i found a white 86.5 thats white too for like 800 bucks. I was thinking about doing a 1jz swap because my buddy has one for sale. I wasnt sure how much it would be to do the swap or what i would need exactly. I wanna keep everything stock and just make it reliable. Ill keep the twins and only thing aftermarket will be intercooler. other than that stock. need reliable car for school. Which a reliable supra? ya ok good luck but wanna try. If anyone has any info please let me know. Im already in need of another supra. :D

Check the "other engines" section on here, read through the stickies. Should give you answers for all you'd want to know, at least at this point. Still have questions after doing a good bit of reading in there? Then ask. ;)

That said, I swapped a stock-ish 1j into my car about 2.5 years ago, going on 3. Cleaned up the engine, replaced ALL the seals, put it in, haven't had a serious problem yet. Only minor things that left the car even the slightest bit un-driveable were a coolant hose for the front turbo that popped (replace ALL rubber parts before putting a used engine in a car), and... I think that's honestly it. Aside from my Miata or old Celica, this has been my most reliable (overall) car that I've ever had.
