I was looking for a good street turbo. Something along the lines of a Garrett 60-1 with a turbine at around an a/r of .58-.69. I was talking with an old acquaintance that runs his own fabrication shop. He told me it was an older (around 3yrs old) Precision Turbo that he pulled off a friends car. It's been sitting on shelf in a box. He said it was it was along the lines of what I was looking for. It's supposed to be a Precision turbo T62E. 3" inlet 2" outlet, .69 on center turbine. I don't know what trim the turbine is. I visited Precision's website and didn't see my turbo on that site http://www.precisionturbo.net/turbochargers-display.php?company_id=101795&category_id=3027 . I see a T63E & T64E though. Maybe my turbo was discontinued. So I'm wondering if my turbo is indeed a Precision Turbo unit. And if so I guess it's a 62mm compressor wheel. Any thoughts guys?

Would this turbo be capable of pushing 500rwph+? I quess I'll just have to find out soon.

Oh, and there was this "62E" etched on the compressor outlet. Did Precision Turbo do that kind of thing to their turbo at the time?

Thanks for any input. I'm hoping I'll be satisfied with this thing.

The reason why I asked if it can push 500 or more rwhp is because I've been told that it won't. We were bench racing :ugh: at the drag strip when someone asked me when I'm going to bring my car out of retirement. They asked what my plans were. I gave them a list of mods and told them what turbo I was going to run and was hoping for at least 500rwhp. They looked at me with disbelief and said that turbo might be good for 450rwhp at best. And that's with an excellent tune. These guys are supposed to be good tuners with an in shop in ground dyno jet. Are they blinded by the new technology of the new turbos that has hit the market, or did I just get to small of a turbo? I know I've asked this question before and didn't get any replies on it. Seems like I'm not getting any replies on this one either. :wtc:

A T-62 is kind of an oddball. I'm not sure they are even produced anymore. However, if I remember correctly, that turbo is good for mid 500's at the wheels.

If that's your turbo in your avatar then your compressor wheel looks much bigger than mine. I was told you can push this turbo up to 30psi before it's our of its efficiency range. I was planning of running around 25psi.

That's refreshing to hear. I tried to pick a turbo that's gonna push around that power and not go to big. I wanted a decent turbo with at least a good power throughout the curve. Thanks.
