hi folks,

the scenario is this: i've cracked the head on my 2JZGTE, and am now awaiting the arrival of a complete head assembly.

now i've chanced upon a head (fortunately or not..) with cams, BUT its missing the camshaft caps.

i'm just wondering if theres even a chance the the caps off the original (cracked head) could be used on this head? that would at least mean theres a chance the motor could be up and running soon...

any advice folks?

thanx..:)

cheers!

More than probably not.
Camshaft caps are matched to the head individually and need to remain that way.

You could use your existing caps on the new head, but that cam journals will need to be machined (line-bored) to ensure that they are correctly round and have the right oil clearance for whatever camshafts you are using...
