How much power are you making and at what boost level and with which turbo? I have the new billet 6765 that the 2jz guys are running but I'm not making no where near as much horsepower as they are. I make more torque, but I'm just curious as to what you guys are making.

compression...........8.7 to 1
turbo...........billet 6765 w/ 1.00 ar
boost............23psi (wastegate spring)
horsepower........624rwhp
torque................610rwtq
cams............BC 272 small core
valvetrain.........upgraded springs and retainers from BC

I'm just wondering if I switched to the 2jz head and intake if I'd make the 750 all the 2jz guys seem to be making with the same turbo. I'm thinking about switching to e85 but I want to make sure if I need to switch heads and intake that I do it before I buy my injectors and fuel rail and other items. Thanks for any advice, suggestions or answers you can give.

I think I may have my valves switched out for some oversized ones Mark..........but for the time being, I'm going to save my money up for some larger injectors and some 55 gallon drums to put e85 in...........muwahahaha

Have you done a compression check? Just curious... So basically you're saying that the head of a 2jzgte will give you 125rwhp?hmmmmm.

IIRC Albert, his compression is a bit lower than usual (larger cams are the suspected culprit), 160-165 psi across the board. From the flow tests I've seen, the 2JZ head flows a lot more volume than the 1JZ, so it has the ability to make more horsepower than the 1JZ head. I think that Jay might be at the point where he is losing power due to using a 1JZ head....

What? Seriously? Is there a scientific reason why or is it just because you're not granting me permission.............lol

Oh I'm not doubting that the 2jz head flows better, but 125rwhp more then the 1jz?!? Idk, that's 150 to the crank, close to 25hp to each cylinder?!?

And Gurley did a comp test and was getting 156psi in each cylinder, which I believe is the standard stock 2jz.

IMO I wouldn't waste my time money or effort in getting a 2jzgte head, you would have to replace the
fuel rail, wiring (you're on stinger right?) exhaust manifold, etc etc etc.

If anything get that ATM intake plenum and port your head..

P.s also, the guys making 750 are all near 27psi no? Where is the data tht shows 750 @ 23psi?

Thats what I said in the other forum, I PM sethrom about the intake manifold, I want the intake manifold to be a copy of the Ross Machine Shop manifold for the 2jz, I wanna keep it from going sideways where the battery is at.. BTW I am in on the intake manifold Sethrom, I will ask for your number so we can talk....

You guy know that Aaron sells a 1jz plenum? its only like 180 IIRC.

It may need a little cleaning up in the ports, but hell, that take 20 min and some air guns. reguardless, port matching it to your head is always a +1

I doubt that fits MKIIIs..., I asked Aaron if he has test fitted the intake in a MKIII, he said no.... I wish Ross machine shop made one for a 1jz...,

Ben, what kind of intake do you have? Where did you get it if it isn't stock?

I have a phone number of a guy that is supposed to be willing to make an intake manifold for the 1jz. I"m going to give him a call and see what he says.

I hate you and your McGyver abilities.

unbeknown to everyone, my transmission swap is actually just a rubber band, a paper clip, and a pencil. lol

if you're interested in it, just get a 2J lower runner to me, and ill modify it for you

I believe it. Look at the flow charts for the heads. If a 2jz head can flow enough to hold like 30 more ft lbs up top theres your hp. How about just lopping off the upper plenum at the runners and welding on some 4" tubing and put on like a q45 tb or something? Shouldnt cost more than like 200 bucks?

fwiw, on mine I don't run much boost but here ya go anyhow.
turbo motor stuff
us gte cams
block cut .010
head cut .010
205psi on every cylinder
t04s P trim .68 hot side
hit 14psi at 3500rpm and makes 421whp/412wtq on a mild tune

Just so you guys know. I'd never run this setup without standalone. And I won't go past 16psi without meth.
Compression makes it all savage :)
