just curious........... but if these tow hooks are removed to make way for a bigger IC .... what does the tow truck driver latch on to in order to hoist your car up??

it is a rwd car, usually gets towed from the rear. In most cases though the front end will be to low having it lifted from the rear, so request a flatbed.

In a manual tranny, that's usually not a problem, if it's in neutral, but with an auto tranny, that's a bad idea with a RWD car.
werd, which is why i had my car on a 4 wheel trailer from cali to az.

just request a flat bed, less chance of something bad happening

As an ex tow truck driver, ill add that the tow hooks are used to secure the car when it was being imported overseas, , and are also designed for winching or off road recovery and not for towing. most trucks grab the wheels when lifting...Flatbeds are the exception,

ALSO: flatbeds have issues as well on long trips, as the wheels are not turning and the bearings are rocking back and forth on one spot of the bearring causing pitting. they used to haul cars on trains untill they realized that all of the cars needed new bearings installed after the trip across country..

Or I used the tow hooks on the back of the supra to pull down a tree after hurricane wilma. Also had to go mudding a little bit to get around the trees, fences, etc. that was in the road. Power was also gone for a week, thank god it was cold out until the power came back on lol. Kinda fun getting hurricanes.
