So I've got this AiReasearch To4 (no "B" or "E" stamp) with 60 A/R stamped in the housing sitting in my garage. I am told after inspection that this is a turbo in good shape. (Minimal shaft play) However, I know next to nothing about it. So how good is it? As in: good enough for 400 rwhp? Good spool time? And what will I need to get this in my mk3? Any info or links in the right direction would be nice? I know I will need lex/550s, afpr, and maybe a walbro, but what else? Thanks in advance.

sorry, we need impeller wheel measurements, exhaust footprint, exhaust AR and turbine measurements to tell you ANYTHING about the potential of that turbo. what you told us is kind of like, "I own an early 90s toyota. How fast will be in the quarter?"

wtf is exhaust footprint? never heard of it, but that is probably my partial ignorance showing. So rather than being a smart ass, (it's a late 80s toyota, and I know how fast it is in the quarter) someone could tell me how to measure the impeller, tell me what the hell the footprint is or means, what ar stands for, and I could probably tell you a little more. I need info to get info.

AiResearch is also an airplane turbo; join the airplane-turbo-equipped-MkIII-Supras club!!

I have a "Rajay T4" myself, and it should be exactly like yours...AiResearch is a division of Garret and Rajay is owned by/now is AiResearch. Heres some pics of mine:

After extencive research, I found that it is good for up to "425 HP"

it does look similar, but I will get some measurements- and what is an exhaust footprint? Sounds like something from CSI (crime scene investigators) :)

Ok, here's the skinny. 60 mm compressor wheel, about 57 mm for exhaust wheel, the footprint is 4 1/4 by 3 7/8, 4 bolt flange with a 1 3/4 square hole in the center. the exhaust housing has a round, 4bolt flange that the exhuast will bolt to. (or maybe the wastegate). It's 69mm intake diameter, and the exhaust flange is 4 7/8 accross. hope that helps
I found a "B" stamped into the compressor housing, about 1 inch below the compressor tube (snail thing, not where the intake tube goes, the other one), is this a to4B, then?
